"You shall worship no other god but me (#1)"
"Do not make any other image of Me (#2)"

It's interesting that God states to the jews in the desert after they were freed, to "go into the desert to worship me" and the first commandant He gives them is "I am the Lord your God who rescued you out of Egypt, you shall have no other God but me. Taken from Exodus 20

8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]”
Matthew 4

21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
John 4

Here's some examples of man worshipping :
The Sun
The Stars
Statues, Monuments - Stalin, Gaddafi, Mao ze Dung, Hussain...
Singers, Celebrities- Kardashian, Hiltons, Rappers, American Idol
Cars - Porsche, Mercedes
Technology
Leaders - Barak, Rudd,
Body Image
Ourselves
Sport and the sporting hero
Money & power

How do I know I am worshipping something?
I know that I have the propensity to believe my own "bulls&*%$" that I am a self made man...
I know that I have the possibility of thinking that I am "the man".
I know that I have the propensity to put other things, freedoms above God.

Here's some observations:

People will wait for hours to get a 5 minute glimpse of their idol in a shopping mall for
People will wait overnight outside and Apple store to be the first to buy their new product
We will go into high levels of debt to buy the latest car even though we can't afford it
A friend was in $30K of credit card debt and still went overseas and used $1,000 luggage by Loui Vutton
We will cancel events in order to stay home to watch Australian Idol or The Loggies
We will pay $500 to see Cher perform
We will pay large and small sums to go "health retreats" to "find ourselves"
We read books in the millions of gurus to achieve a higher state of "self"
We forsake our families for career, power, wealth and influence.
We worship "mother earth" and forgot who made earth in the first place
We pay higher reverence for the individual rather than the voiceless

is worship just physical? a physical act?
I contend that it is spiritual - by that, we want to honor, have high esteem and glorify something/somebody else, as a response of gratitude, thankfulness, awe, wonder and appreciation.
This is where the soul comes into it.

Which is why Jesus said people will worship in spirit AND truth.

I would say your soul is not quenched until it is worshipping the truth, the one true God.  Otherwise you will never be satisfied.

Tips of mine:

- Running & listening to podcasts
