Power -

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God" (1 Cor 1:18).


"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[f] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know ...... his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way." (Ephesians 1:17-23)


Post Presence Conference, I have been stirred to desire power, power to change a man's heart, heal the sick, uncover mysteries in another's life, prophesy, you know basically do what Jesus called us to do: heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons - because I have freely received, I freely give. (Matthew 10:8).

I guess you can tell, I am not a cessationist, I find that theology bizarre and very Jehovah Witnessy like. The idea that the miracles I have seen with my own eyes done in Jesus name are of Satan kinda line up with the messed up theology that the Pharisees used accusing Jesus of demonic powers casting out other demons. But to their defence I have not delved much into the case for it.
Anyway, I digress.

When was the last time you laid hands on someone and they got healed? 

When was the last time you prayed for a miracle and it came through?
When was the last time you demonstrated the power of God? 

I say this to myself as much as anyone. 

This discussion is pretty simple: We have at our fingertips the authority and power over all things - use it according to His will and good pleasure.

"You will do greater things than these [miracles].."

So Jesus and a prayer is not the answer to a formula - could you imagine if that were so... here's the ATM miracle pin code.... like God is not a personality, just a pre-programmed machine to respond to an instruction set and off the miracle goes - what a disaster the world be in.

But Jesus does teach it, act it and I see it almost every week - a woman healed of cancer, a woman healed of food allergies, a woman having provisions for her miraculously for 18 months, a crusty old famous Australian singer giving his heart to Jesus, a man dropping a legal case and giving his heart to Jesus...

No, He's the Lion, the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Majesty, the Glory that was is and is to come, He's the Beginning and End, the Way, The Truth and the Life, He's Emmanuel, The ultimate Judge and Justice, the Ultimate Peacemaker, the President of all Presidents, the Master of the the Universe, The Grand Designer, the Ultimate Player, the Comforter in the darkest distress the Reviver, the Ultimate Surgeon, the Strategist of Strategies, the Wisdom that defined Wisdom, He;s the Logos, the Logic, He's the Answer and Ultimate Reality and He's Jesus - And ALL [ALL!] authority in Heaven on and Earth is under his feet.


And I tap in to that Power, how can life be the same again?
